| JLS Aviation is located at Shannon Airport in Fredericksburg , Virginia . The Flight School operates out of the east end of the FBO. To get to the airport from I-95, take exit 130 east toward Dahlgren, which is also SR 3. Look for the intersection of SR 2 and turn right (South). The Airport is on the right (west) side of the road. Look for the Wawa on the right. The entrance to the airport is the next right hand turn opposite the John Deere store.
JLS Aviation aircraft are parked less than 100 feet from the runway. There is no lengthy taxiing necessary. Airport traffic is generally light and there is normally no wait to take-off or land. The airport is located within the training area, which minimizes costly transit time. It is also outside the ADIZ imposed on other airports in the Washington DC area. Over the course flight instruction, this advantage alone could save a pilot hundreds of dollars. |
